Eve Evangel nel 1989 formò i Sanguis et Cinis.

Inizialmente lavorò da sola a diverse song fino a che nel 1994 non incontra Ashley Dayour.

Il duo si esibisce live, organizzando concerti molto barocchi e sensuali.

Qualche tempo dopo viene reclutato anche Richard Lederer per il debut album "Schicksal" che contiene anche il demotape "Requiem 1791".

Anche Celine Cecila Angel entra nel gruppo come controparte femminile alle vocals, seguita da Arthur:

il gruppo gira anche 2 videoclips.

"unfreiwillig abstrakt" è un'altra prova che vede il gruppo fondere le atmosfere sinfoniche a quelle più cupe e a un passo dal gothic metal.
