Principe Valiente from Stockholm, formed back in 2005, released a 4-track EP in 2007 which received great reviews and was widely played by DJ:s and on radio shows across Europe and North America. They soon became known for their solid live shows and they performed at Debaser Medis, Stockholm in 2008 and at Wave Gotik Treffen, Leipzig, Germany in 2009.
Principe Valiente's debut album has a darker pop sound and it may be the result of elements inspired by certain post punk- and shoegaze acts, but is primarily characterized by an ambition to break new sonic ground. The sound has been described as emotional and very intense, and it’s been compared to acts like The Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, early U2, Interpol and Suede.
Songs like “One More Time” and “New Life” are hypnotic and powerful and the album features the successful singles 'The Night' and 'In My Arms'. The music videos to both singles were made by director Henning Cronheim, who’s also been involved in the making of the Millennium trilogy films in Sweden.
The band is already working on new songs on the demo level and is aiming to release their next album in 2013.
